It's been a while since Lady Gaga released any new music — other than that bizarre Pseudo - Rap about living large, anyway — but Little Monsters must stay strong: This is just the calm before the storm. Pop's proudest weirdo is planning a very major return in the coming year, with enough material to fill more than one full-length album.
In a chat with her fans on Monday, Gaga indicated that she'd like to release two volumes of her upcoming album ARTPOP.
The first, she explained, would contain "all the commercial songs," while the second volume would feature "experimental material," though she quickly noted, "... to be honest even the experimental stuff is catchy."
Gaga estimated the second volume would drop about six months after the first.
Some Gaga fans will be sad to learn that the singer's extremely vulnerable ballad "Princess Die" will likely not appear on ARTPOP — at least not in any familiar form.
I don't think Princess Die will make the cut, but I wrote another version of princess die that is uptempo...totally different song," Gaga said. "Princess Die isn't as good as all the other songs I wrote, artpop is more a project experience.
