Star Wars' Episode 7 Is Happening!

Use the Force, Mickey  George Lucas has been notoriously protective of his Star Wars franchise, but the filmmaker has decided to move on, unexpectedly handing over his movie and merchandise empire to Disney today for $4.05 billion in cash and stock. News of the acquisition sent shockwaves through the film industry as Disney confirmed it plans to release a new Star Wars movie in 2015.

Will the new Star Wars be a prequel, sequel or some sort of reboot? If Disney is accurately calling it Episode 7, it will likely take place after the events of Return of the Jedi, but the history of Lucas' fictional universe is a gigantically robust thing (thanks to novels, comics, video games, and more) spanning thousands of years, so there's no telling for certain. Some fans are already speculating the new movie will focus on Princess Leia and Han Solo's children.
