Taylor Swift Won't Talk Politics

Country superstar Taylor Swift has no interest in getting political, despite the fact that she's dating a member of the most famous family in American politics. In a new interview with Blosters, the country pop superstar was asked if she'd been following the presidential election race.
"I follow it, and I try to keep myself as educated and informed as possible," Taylor acknowledged. "But I don't talk about politics because it might influence other people. And I don't think that I know enough in life to be telling people to vote for."

Swift isn't the first star to play mum when it comes to politics: Kid Rock lambasted celebrities who voiced their political opinions back in 2008, telling CMT Insider, "I truly believe that people like myself, who are in a position of entertainers in the limelight, should keep their mouth shut on politics."

He's since changed his tune, and is now one of the entertainment industry's most vocal Republicans
Taylor's decision to keep quiet is rather shrewd: Country music fans tend to have conservative leanings (remember the Dixie Chicks ?), so a political endorsement could be very bad for business.
